Hanna Isaksson is a professor in Biomedical Engineering, Lund University. Hanna's reserach area is primarily bone biomechanics and mechanobiology, focusing on functional imaging and material characterization musculoskeletal tissues, primarily bone and tendons. She studies damage and fracture mechanisms and uses a variety of synchrotronbased techniques such as X-ray tomography, scattering and spectrocopy, to understand the link between mechanical performance, structure and composition, on lengthscales from the whole organ down to the building blocks of the tissues.
