Curious about how X-ray computed tomography can benefit your research? Join us for an introductory workshop with talks, networking, and a tour of MAX IV!
→Learn about 3D and 4D imaging in materials and medical sciences, meet users from industry and academia, and discover how experts at InfraVis and QIM can help you visualize your data.
When: Thursday 4 December, 2025
Where: at LINXS (The Loop, Rydbergs torg 4, 224 84), workshop room on the 3 floor.
Cost: The event is free of charge!
Target group: The event is designed for early-career researchers (Master’s students, PhDs, PostDocs etc).
What to bring: During the speed meetings, you'll get peer and expert feedback on how XCT could benefit your research. Please prepare an A4 poster about your research interests, addressing questions such as:
- What do you want to study and why is 3D/4D imaging relevant?
- What do you hope to measure or observe?
- What ideas do you have about experiments or analysis methods?
About
X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) has reshaped the way we see through materials, structures and processes. Now, more than ever, with MAX IV and a dedicated tomography station on the way, exciting opportunities arise for current and future scientists.
If you are interested in using x-ray CT, or want to be part of the development process, please sign up for a one-day introductory workshop focused on connecting and bridging the gap between beginners, experienced users, and experts from both academia and industry.
The morning talks will take you from the basics of the technique to some of its advanced uses in medical and engineering sciences. You will get to meet some of our experts contributing to a wide range of technical activities that are essential for x-ray CT developments, and learn more about its role outside academia through our industrial collaborators.
In the afternoon, we will visit MAX IV and get a closer look at the beamlines offering x-ray tomography. And finally, we would like to cherish this collaborative day with a drink at John Smiths.
