Experimental signatures of quantum correlations and topology in neutron and x-ray techniques – QMat theme

registration

Welcome to an interactive workshop exploring how neutron and x-ray techniques can reveal quantum correlations and electronic topology in quantum materials, with a special focus on new opportunities at ESS and MAX IV!

When: 11-13 February, 2026

Where: LINXS, The Loop, Rydbergs torg 4, 224 84 Lund

Organisers: LINXS QMat Theme working groups WG2 and WG3

Target Group: Theorists and experimentalists using neutron and x-ray techniques. Early-career researchers are especially welcome.

ABOUT

Quantum correlations and topological electronic states feature prominently in quantum materials but a key challenge is to probe them experimentally. This workshop aims to explore how quantum correlations and electronic topology can be revealed specifically by neutron and x-ray techniques.

The meeting will emphasise dialogue between theorists and experimentalists so as to identify new opportunities for scientific discovery, with a special focus on what the new capabilities at the ESS and MAX IV facilities can offer.

We expect the event to be of particular interest to early-career theorists and experimentalists, and there will be plenty of time for both planned and informal discussions. The meeting will have a varied programme, including the chance for everyone to talk about their science and to contribute ideas

The workshop is organised by the LINXS QMat Theme working groups WG2 and WG3
