This one-week Summer School offers a unique combination of theoretical lectures and hands-on training, focusing on key techniques like XPS, ARPES, XAS, and RIXS.

Designed for (but not limited to) PhD students and early-career researchers, the school provides an excellent introduction for new users and practical guidance on data collection and interpretation.

MAX IV Laboratory and LINXS offer a unique opportunity to combine theoretical lectures with hands-on training at the synchrotron. The lectures serve as an introductory step for new users, providing a solid foundation in the technique, while data analysis classes and beamline exercises offer valuable opportunities to engage with experienced scientists and discuss user projects. MAX IV staff members are excellent resources for guidance on data collection and interpretation. The Summer School makes accents on techniques, such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS).

The Summer School is primarily designed for, but not limited to, PhD students and early-career researchers. This program introduces key concepts essential for understanding and applying various scientific and technological techniques. It also helps participants recognize and avoid common misinterpretations found in the literature, equipping them with the knowledge to navigate complex research topics with confidence.
