Dr. Cedric Dicko is a researcher in applied biochemistry with a focus on fibrous proteins. His primary research involves the application of biospectroscopy, scattering and soft mechanics to investigate the self-assembly and structure-function relationships in silk materials. The work emphasizes the importance of microstructures in biological function and how microscopic organization dramatically affects and determines the macroscopic properties of biological systems. Leading the Soft and Complex Biomaterials Group, Dr. Dicko and his team explore biological molecules to uncover their potential in material science and bioengineering.
