Claes von Wachenfeldt is a lecturer and researcher specializing in molecular microbiology, with a primary focus on the fundamental mechanisms of bacterial stress adaptation. His work carries significant implications for recombinant protein production, as the metabolic burden of synthesis often triggers stress responses in production hosts that can limit yield and quality. He has a PhD in microbiology from Lund University. Following his doctoral studies, he held postdoctoral research positions in Amsterdam and at the Scripps Research Institute in San Diego.
