Associate Senior Lecturer, Division of Biochemistry and Structural Biology, Department of Chemistry, Lund University, Lund, Sweden
Anna Munke has a PhD in Structural Biology from Uppsala University. This was followed by a postdoctoral stay at Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg. She then returned to Uppsala University for a second postdoc before starting her current role at Lund University in 2025. Her experience spans developing and applying different structural biology techniques, with viruses as a consistent focus, either as model systems or from a biological perspective. Her current research centers on viruses infecting marine diatoms, where cryo-EM and in situ cryo-ET are mainly used to understand their replication.
