European Spallation Source ERIC & Lund University, Lund, Sweden

Esko Oksanen was trained at the University of Helsinki, Finland in structural enzymology; particularly in X-ray and neutron crystallography. After a post-doctoral period at EMBL Grenoble and Institut de19 Biologie Strucuturale in Grenoble, France on crystal growth optimization he joined the European Spallation Source in Lund, Sweden in 2011. Since then he has been responsible for the NMX Macromolecular Diffractometer instrument project. Since 2023 he has been based at the Division of Computational Chemistry at Lund University. His research activities focus on combining crystallographic and computational methods to understand enzyme mechanisms, particularly the role of hydrogen atoms
