Frank Kozielski earned his PhD from the University of Hamburg while conducting research at the Max-Planck Working Groups for Structural Biology at Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY). Following his doctoral studies, he relocated to France, where he spent 11 years at the French Atomic Commission (CEA) researching human kinesins. In 2007, he joined the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, part of Cancer Research UK, as a Senior Group Leader and was subsequently appointed as a Professor at the University of Glasgow Medical School. In 2013, he transitioned to University College London (UCL), where his research focuses on cancer, antibacterial, and antiviral drug targets, with a particular emphasis on coronaviruses. Between 2016 and 2018, he served as Head of Research Department at the UCL School of Pharmacy. In addition to his research, he contributes to teaching on various MPharm and MSc courses, covering cancer-related topics, early drug discovery, and drug development, with an emphasis on case studies and drug-like properties.
